RUDOLPH DAY--JUNE 25, 2011...CHRISTMAS IN JULY IS ALMOST HERE!

I'm using Rudolph Day this month to announce the Christmas in July 2011 event! Throughout the month of July, there will be Christmas posts, maybe not every day, but at least several times a week.  I will be posting craft projects, recipes, stories and poems from the public domain (including the continuation of Christmas in Ritual and Tradition, Christian and Pagan by Clement A. Miles), upcoming Christmas book, music, and movie releases, and more.  I would also like to host some guest posts during the event.  If you are interested in contributing a post, please email me at truebookaddictATgmailDOTcom  If you need some ideas, here you go:

  • childhood anecdotes or memories
  • a short story or poem
  • share a favorite family recipe
  • a top ten list of Christmas movies, books or music
  • a favorite craft project
If there are any authors reading this, I would love to have a guest post from you as well.  Have you written a Christmas book?  Why not feature it here during Christmas in July and even host a giveaway?  Or write a post about one of the above topics.  I would be so thrilled!

I'd also like to hold a giveaway.  If I do not get a prize donated, I'm hoping I have the money to mail out books (I still haven't mailed out the books from my last giveaway at The True Book Addict...yes, things are that bad!).  At the next library sale, that I still get to go to because my mom pays for my books (love her!), I'm going to be on the look out for some Christmas novels, just in case I can have the giveaway.  So keep your fingers crossed that I win the lottery or, at least, finally find a job!

I made a smaller button (see below) so feel free to grab either one for your blog.  I hope you're as excited as I am.  I know there are a few of you who are almost as fanatical about Christmas as me! Start building that Christmas Spirit and I'll be seeing you on July 1st!

Always in spirit....

  1. I'm in, just let me know what you need. I'm actually thinking of a post about one of my favorite Chrismtas things, Christmas cards.
