Halloween - My house is very festive this year

First, I wanted to let you know that Ken from Sounds of Christmas...yes, our friend Ken who shares new Christmas music with us every year...invited me on his podcast to talk about this site, Halloween, my trip to Salem, and more. You can listen to it here. Stop back by and let me know what you think in the comments. I was nervous at first, but really ended up enjoying myself. Ken has that effect on people.

Okay, on to today's post. As you (might) know, last year I moved house from Tennessee to Michigan so when Halloween rolled around, I was still unpacking and getting settled. I was unable to go all out for Halloween. Well, I made up for it this year! Take a look...

Halloween - Witch-y door decor

I'm a novice witch so my sister wanted to make me something special for my birthday, and she knows I love Halloween. She made me the wonderful door decoration above.

I'm not exactly sure how she made it, but I know she found a tutorial online and then put her own spin on it. She is SO talented. I love it!

Here are some other ideas I found around the web...

Halloween - Vincent Price...the king of classic horror

I think we all pretty much know who Vincent Price is, but for those who don't, check out the bio below. I have always adored him. I still watch his movies, and it was great to find out that he was a genuinely nice person in real life. Today I'm going to share some of my favorites of his films (after the bio below). Enjoy!

Vincent Price is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and beloved horror movie actors in the world. Any fan of classic horror movies knows the name Vincent Price as synonymous with elegance, humor, talent, worldliness, and charm. Throughout his over 60-year movie career, appearing in countless classic horror movies, as well as classic films outside the horror genre, Price established himself as one of the most popular actors--beloved among both his fans and his peers.

Price's remarkable career began on Broadway opposite Helen Hayes and ended in Tim Burton's Edward Scissorhands with Johnny Depp, featuring appearances in such film noir classics such Laura and popular television series as Batman and The Brady Bunch. Vincent Price's erudite and eclectic personal interests in art, cooking, travel, and writing not only made him unique among horror movie actors, but also informed his acting choices in classic horror movies as House of Wax, Pit and the Pendulum, and the other popular Roger Corman classics based on the works of Edgar Allen Poe.

The House of the Seven Gables (1940)

This one is my favorite. Still scares me to this day!
House of Wax (1953)

House of Usher (1960)

The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)

The Raven (1963)

The Masque of the Red Death (1964)

The Last Man on Earth (1964)

The Conqueror Worm, or Witchfinder General (1968)

Edward Scissorhands (1990)

If you haven't by chance watched a Vincent Price film, I recommend you do so forthwith! You won't be sorry.
