Christmas in July - Weekend Crafting

Yup, you read that right! Christmas in July is back this year. It's going to be a very limited event with only a few posts a week due to my busy schedule these days, but I hope you'll enjoy a little bit of Christmas as we start counting down to our favorite time of year.

Here's a gorgeous craft I wanted to share with you. I absolutely love this and will probably do it this year for Christmas. You can get all the supplies at Dollar Tree (except for the glass knobs and the glue) and each one ends up costing around five dollars! Wow! And there are so many ways you can put these on display.

DIY Apothecary Jars for Christmas
Idea and images from the Life {Sweet} Life blog

Supplies needed:

-glass jars or large vase, as shown (same size or different sizes, whatever your preference)
-large glass candlestick holder
-small glass bowls
-glass knobs (you can get a 3 pack at Wal-Mart for around $6)
-E6000 glue (the glue will make the price a bit higher, unless you already have it on hand)

1. Apply E6000 glue to the rim of the candlestick, and place the jar on top and press together for a few seconds. Set aside to dry.
2. There are 2 different sizes of glass bowls at Dollar Tree. (The smaller size comes in a 4 pack, and the larger size in a 3 pack.) Choose the size that fits best with the glass jar you're using. Use the larger bowls for the tall jars, and the smaller ones for the short jars (shown in the mantel picture with the ornaments inside.)

3. Turn the bowl upside down, then apply E6000 glue to the knob, and press down for a few seconds. Set aside to dry.

Then just put the lid on the jar, and that's it! Very simple!

I hope you enjoyed this craft idea. If you do make them, stop by and leave me a comment (and a link to your post, if there is one).

Always in spirit...
